At True Hair Collective, every appointment starts with a conversation about your hair history, your lifestyle, what's worked and what hasn't. From there we build a plan that's yours alone, using ammonia-free Natulique colour, Malibu and Re-Shine treatments, and styling techniques that work with your hair, not against it.
You'll never share Mel with another client. The studio doors close, the kettle goes on, and the next two or three hours are entirely about you: your cut, your colour, your conversation, your time.

Mel founded True Hair Collective so women could have somewhere unhurried, unrushed and entirely their own. Trained in Roò curly cutting, ammonia-free colour and restorative treatment work, Mel's built a quiet reputation in Sydney CBD as the stylist clients refer their best friends to.

Yes. Mel is one of a small group of certified Roò curly cut specialists in Sydney. The Roò technique cuts each curl individually while the hair is dry, honouring your natural pattern instead of forcing it straight. We also work with all hair types: straight, wavy, coloured and chemically treated.
Personalised cuts and styling run 1.5–2 hours, Roò curly cuts run 2–2.5 hours, and full colour services can take 2.5–3 hours. We never overlap clients, so the time is fully yours, including a thorough consultation, the service itself, and styling at the finish.
Re-Shine & Re-Fresh ($145) is a refresher trim, clear toner for lasting shine, and a styled blow dry, ideal between full colours. Malibu (Enquire) clarifies and hydrates, removing mineral and chemical build-up, perfect before colour or as a stand-alone reset for dull, weighed-down hair.
Always. After your service Mel curates a small list of vegan, organic salon-grade products from Mel's Favourites, designed to protect the work we've done in chair and make styling easier between visits. No upselling, only what your hair actually needs.
